PPR Heritage

The railroad tracks we use today were once owned and operated by the mighty Pennsylvania Railroad. Our section of track was part of what was called the Frederick Secondary or the Frederick Branch Line, running from Columbia, PA, next to the Susquehanna river southwest to Frederick, MD. Today, we operate on seven miles of the original 69.5 miles that comprised the Frederick Secondary, several miles of which has been either dismantled or sold off. We feel fortunate to be able to preserve this small piece of history for future generations and to tell the story of one of the PRR branch lines and its effect on the local communities along the right of way.
