***IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19 THERE WILL NO LONGER BE COMMUNAL SEATING, AND ALL TABLES WILL BE PRIVATE REGARDLESS OF PARTY SIZE (UNLESS OTHERWISE REQUESTED WHEN BOOKING).  TABLES WILL BE SPACED OUT ACCORDING TO THE MOST CURRENT RECOMMENDATIONS BY THE STATE. Walkersville Southern Railroad operates dinner trains on the first Saturday of each month from May thru August and mystery dinner trains on the third Saturday from May thru August. We also offer mystery dinner trains on the first AND third Saturday of each month from September through November. For 2020, we will also host two Valentine's Day dinner trains, a Mother's Day dinner train and four additional Mystery Dinner Trains in October.  The schedule is listed to the left.

 

Enjoy a four-course meal with gracious service in a grand setting. Board our richly restored 1920s-era dining car at the train station in Walkersville for 6 PM departure, and settle back and relax to fine dining throughout your leisurely two-hour train ride. We don't currently serve alcoholic beverages, but you are welcome to bring beer or wine. (We do have wine glasses for your use.) WE STRONGLY DISCOURAGE PATRONS FROM OVER-IMBIBING.  Please drink responsibly!  We will return to the station at approximately 8 PM.  Links to our dinner menus are in the upper left corner of this page.  All beef dishes are cooked medium.


We have 10 tables in our dining car, each seating four persons. Dining car seating begins at 5:45 PM.  We're sorry that we cannot allow early seating as our wait staff will be very busy getting everything ready for your evening. 

Once we have a complete guest list, we will assign seats based on the number of people in your party.  In the true spirit and tradition of railroad dining, you may be seated at a table with other guests if there are only two in your party and we have a sold out crowd. If you have three or four persons in your party, you will have a private table.  If there are only two in your party and you wish to guarantee a table for only two, you may purchase a private table ticket in addition to your tickets.


Dinner train tickets are $91.00 per person (including tax and gratuity), and $67.00 for children 12 and under. Mystery dinner train tickets are $98.00 per person (including tax and gratuity) and $77.00 for children 12 and under. We discourage patrons from bringing children that are too young to sit in a seat by themselves or who may not be able to sit reasonably quietly for two hours without disturbing other patrons. We do not have high chairs or booster seats. The children's menu is the same as the adult menu but with smaller portions. Keep in mind that we do not operate a full service restaurant and we may not have items that are not listed on the menu. If you require something special, please call us ahead of time.


Tickets may be purchased online. The MENUS can be found at the top left hand corner of the page. No refunds will be given for any reason unless the train is cancelled. If you must cancel your reservation, please try to give us as much notice as possible.
